In a proactive initiative, the students of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, specifically from the MW221 class of the Midwifery department, have organized a noteworthy awareness program focusing on women’s cancer prevention. This commendable effort aims to equip women with vital knowledge, emphasizing the importance of early detection and preventative measures.
Moreover, a significant highlight of the program was the practical session on Breast Self-Examination (BSE). Participants were imparted with hands-on skills, empowering them to conduct regular self-checks, a pivotal step in early cancer detection. Echoing this year’s resonating theme, “Close the Care Gap”, the program reaffirmed the department’s commitment to bridging the health awareness divide and championing community health.
